House Savaro is located in the Ilo bay in the small village Savar.
The beautiful and quiet Ilo bay is only three hundred meters away from the center of the Savar village. The bay has only a dozen houses, and our house is located directly on the coast.
We have a beautiful view, a beach with umbrellas and deck chairs exclusively for our guests.
We also have a well-equipped summer kitchen and grill located in the courtyard of the house, which are available to our dear guests.
In agreement with the guests we can also provide fresh fish or seashells.
From our offer of outdoor activities we can offer you three kayaks with accessories (vests for adults and children) and two sea scooters as well as a boat, with opportunities for shorter trips or a drive to the beautiful hidden beaches.
In Savar you can also find a beautiful little beach near the pre-Romanesque church of St. Pelegrin – a zero category world heritage site.
Near the village there is also the famous cave Strašna peć (name translation: Horrible furnace), the location of the first organized tourist excursions in this region.
Only a few kilometers from Savar you can see one of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic, Sakarun, Veli Žal, Brbiscica, Vela Luka, Ripišće, Pastrč, Orihovica, Dumboka, Zelen Draga, Samatvorac
Savar is positioned in the middle of Dugi otok and has an ideal location. To the southeast side of the village there is the Nature park Telašćica and the medicinal salt lake Mir, and to the west side, only ten kilometers away, is the Dugi otok jewel – beach SAKARUN – declared one of the five most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic .
TheDugi main road doesn’t have much traffic and therefore is ideal for cycling – 40 kilometres of a beautiful road that offers a great view of the 1000 islands of the Zadar archipelago on one side and the open sea on the other side.
On the north side of the Dugi otok near Verunić you can cycle to the beach Sakarun or the large lighthouse in Veli Rat in the south side of the island.
Cycling is also a delight in Nature park Telašćica.
Although the largest altitude on Dugi Otok is 338 m, its geomorphic characteristics make it an ideal place for trekking and mountaineering enthusiasts, and in 2012. the construction of a new rock climbing area began in an old quarry called Stara Kava, between Luke and Savar. So far, five sport routes have been finished.
The Dugi otok seabed is very rich with underwater life.
On the island there are three diving schools that will take you through this magnificent world and take you to some of the best diving destinations in the central Adriatic, such as the island of Mežanj or the underwater cave Brbinj where the fossils of dinosaurs and ammonites (marine snails) aged 20- 80 million years were found embedded in the rocks.
Near Strašna Peć in a cave called Vlakno, a human skeleton was found, estimated to be 11.000 years old, which is now humorously known as the oldest Dalmatian, and named Šime.
On Dugi otok, there are three hunting zones: the most famous one is in Nature Park Telašćica, where you can participate in a mouflon hunt.
If you want to see the most beautiful unspoiled nature surrounded by numerous olive groves, the most beautiful hidden beaches with crystal clear water that are a challenge to researchers, but also to all those who long for privacy and relaxation, to feel the unique microclimate, and see breqathtaking views, Dugi otok is the place for you.
An ideal place for a break from the everyday noise and stress.
Fill yourself with the positive energy of the nature and the sea, breathe in the fresh air and move on. Dugi otok is waiting for you 🙂
